Yvonne J. Chester, age 87, of Tiffin, Ohio, a two-year resident of St. Francis Home, Tiffin, died January 3, 2004, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born April 3, 1916, in Lowell, Ohio, to the late Mark and Ethel (Ruse) Drinkwater. Her first husband, Paul H. Sherer, died on January 3, 2002. Her second husband, Robert H. Chester, whom she married July 1, 1950, in the Tiffin Church of the Nazarene, died February 23, 1997. Survivors include three sons, Gene C. (Pat) Sherer, Lanny L. (Judy) Sherer, and John A. (Sherri) Sherer, all of Tiffin. Seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Drinkwater.
Mrs. Chester was a graduate of Republic High School, a homemaker, and a member of the Tiffin Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
