William Henry McCrory, 95, of Hubert, North Carolina, formerly of Tiffin, died Monday, July 20, 2015, at his residence in Hubert.
He was born October 6, 1919, in Tiffin, to Floyd and Esther (Hetzel) McCrory. He married Joan Daniel October 4, 1947, in Tiffin. She died April 3, 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Dmitri McCrory, both of Columbus; a daughter, Colleen Smith of Hubert, N.C.; two granddaughters, Kiara Miller and Sarah Oberdorf; and six great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert McCrory, a sister, Betty Lehman, and a son, William McCrory II.
Mr. McCrory was a World War II veteran of the US Army. He was a retired utility man and plant operator for Ohio American Water Co., having worked there for 31 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, the Amvets, and the Eagles.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113, with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens, with military rites by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, July 24, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Rita’s School for the Deaf, Cincinnati, in care of the funeral home.
