WILBUR JACOB FELTER

Wilbur Jacob Felter, age 84, lifelong resident of Seneca County, died at 10:10 am Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Elmwood at the Shawhan in Tiffin, Ohio.
He was born August 3, 1919, in Seneca County, to the late Jacob Elery and Regina (Wechter) Felter. On January 31, 1942, he married Margie Dornbirer at the St. Stephen’s Rectory, and she survives at 231 Mohawk St., Apt. D-1, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
Other survivors include: three sons, Lawrence, Michael (Sharon), and Gregory (Gabriele) Felter, all of Tiffin; one daughter, Susan (Bradford) Tanner of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Esther Faye Chaikin of California; and a brother, Robert Felter of Bloomville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Felter, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Ruby) Schueler and Mary Beatrice Felter.
Mr. Felter was a 1937 graduate of Attica High School and farmed in Seneca County for over 50 years. He was a life member of the Tiffin Elks, Knights of Columbus, and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico and to Native American reservations.
Rev. James K. Say will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited in the church fifteen minutes prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School, Calvert High School, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
