Webb S. Smith

Webb S. Smith, 93 of Fostoria, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Independence House, Fostoria.  He was born May 10, 1922, in Fremont to Webb B. and Essie G. (Havens) Smith. He married Lois Jean Russell Nov. 1, 1942, and she died Feb. 10, 1989.  He later married Iva Mae Gee,  March 14, 1990,  and she is deceased.

Survivors include a son, Stephen C.(Susie) Smith of Tiffin; a daughter, Susan K. (James) Ringle of Lewisville, Ind.; a step-son Duane Gee of Fla; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Smith of Fostoria and a sister-in-law, Edna Smith of Fostoria.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two wives; two brothers, Lawrence and Homer Smith; a sister, Ruth Pevler, and a stepdaughter, Patty S. Cullison.

Webb attended Jackson-Burgoon High School. He took over the family farm of raising registered cattle in 1945 until 1954 when his health declined. He worked at Tiffin Motors for 16 years as the Sales Manager and he was co-owner of P&S leasing.

He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Fostoria, the 300-500 Ford Sales Club and a member of the Master Sales Club.

Visitation with family and friends will be 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113 with the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Bernie Dickson. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Memorial Gardens, Arcadia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or to the Seneca County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
