Wanda Mae Distel, 83, of Tiffin, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin. She was born August 28, 1932 in Kansas, Ohio to Robert and Neva Jones Winkler. She married William J. Distel, Jr., Feb. 3, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died Dec. 29, 1995.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Theresa) Distel of Tiffin; two grandchildren, James and Jacob Distel; a step-brother, Jim (Robin) Wheeler of Ann Arbor, Mich; a step-sister, Eileen of Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Pat Winkler of Tiffin.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Winkler, and a sister, Margaret Jennings.
Wanda retired from General Electric Company, Tiffin. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept 19, 2015, at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Autumnwood Care Center Chapel, 670 E. SR18, Tiffin, with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Entombment will follow immediately in Seneca Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
