Walter E. Seitz, age 83 years, of 18 Virginia Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio, died Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 8:20 P.M. in the Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
He was born on July 7, 1920 in Tiffin to Herman and Rose (Dendinger) Seitz. On January 26, 1946, in St. Mary Catholic Church he married Alice M. Myers. She died on February 2, 2001.
Other survivors include, 2 daughters, Diane (Joseph) Smith of Tiffin; and Linda (Harold) DeLong of San Diego, CA; 5 Grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Rankin, Georgiann (Don) Berry, Paige DeLong, Brent DeLong, Clay DeLong; 5 Great Grandchildren, Aaron Rankin, Andrew Rankin, Jessica Rankin, Samuel Berry, Madeline Berry; 2 brothers, Herman (Joe) Seitz of Tiffin. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Louis Seitz.
Mr. Seitz was a 1938 Calvert High School graduate. He served in the United Sates Army from 1942-1945 during World War II as a Staff Sergeant.
He retired in 1983 after 12 years as a Cost Accountant at National Machinery Company in Tiffin. He also worked for Tiffin Diary from 1958-1971, and he was employed by Sally Ann Bakery from 1946-1958. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge, Tiffin.
The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass. Burial will take place immediately following the Funeral Mass in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The United Veteran’s Council will perform military rites at the gravesite.
