Walter C. Studer, 87, formerly of Pinewood Drive, and of St. Francis Home, Tiffin died at 10:17 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin. He was born November 23, 1918 in Crawford County to the late Daniel and Bertha (Ball) Studer. On November 20, 1941 in Tiffin he married Margaret Fiegelist and she died on April 7, 1992.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Marcia) Hohman of Fostoria, OH; four grandchildren, Keith, Kyle, Kurt Hohman and Kara Wise; four great grandchildren, Emily, Jared, Matthew and Sarah Hohman; and a close family friend Fay Acree of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Studer, Jr.; and Phillip Studer; and two sisters, Catherine Rauth; and Anna Chronister.
Mr. Studer was a 1936 graduate of New Washington High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the disabled American Veterans. He was retired as a self-employed carpenter.
The funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. James K. Say officiating. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The United Veterans Council of Seneca County will perform military rites at the grave site.
