Virginia May Miletti, 95, of Tiffin, died at 12:10 am Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, one day before her 96th birthday.
Virginia was born September 20, 1922, in Tiffin to Richard and Ida (Bormuth) Boehler. She married Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Miletti October 30, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and they were married for 66 years before he died November 17, 2011.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol Rall of Crestline, Janet (Robb) Harst of Huron, Jane (Steve) Distel of Tiffin, Christine (Terry) Gawlik of San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, as well as step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law, Bill Rall.
Virginia was a 1940 graduate of Calvert High School. Larry and Virginia owned Larry’s Shoes and when not tending to their four children she helped at the store. Virginia was an avid Bridge player and loved the Cleveland Indians. She took up the game of golf and on occasion played with her husband. Virginia was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, delivered mobile meals, and loved to bowl, cook, and bake. Fall and the cool weather was her favorite time of year. Larry and Virginia enjoyed travel and over the years made trips to Florida, Boston, and Texas, as well as several other states.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113 with a Wake service at 3:30 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass. Rev. Gary Walters will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
