Viola Anna Welly, 89, of Tiffin, died at 11 p.m. January 10, 2020, at her daughter’s residence. She was born July 6, 1930, in New Riegel, to Mars and Rosella (Blechinger) Reinhart.
She married Charles Joseph Welly, April 17, 1948, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel. He died July 14, 2001.
Survivors include, three children, Kenny James (Sue Couch) Welly, Rose (James) Dariano, and Theresa (Mark) Nichols, all of Tiffin, 11 grandchildren, Daniel Cahill, Traci Cahill, Mark Nichols II, Nicole (Nichols) Smith, Ashley Nichols, Deanna Nichols, Stacy (Nichols) Wise, Tasha Welly, Brandon Couch, Joshua Dariano, Brittany Dariano; 20 great-grandchildren, Paige, Violet, Cayelee, Kennedy, Katelynn, Braylon, Brody, Adalynn, Delsin, Haysten, Kambryn, Huntsleigh, Oskar, Marley, Riley, Kirsten, Kaydence, Jasmine, Eli, and Aleigha; two half-sisters, Betty (Mike) O’Connor of Tiffin and Sue (Mike) Reidling of Waynesfield.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, a son, Charles Jr.; two daughters, Jane and Sarah Welly; a granddaughter, Kerry Nichols, a great-grandson, Remy Nichols; and a brother, Joseph Reinhart.
Viola was a house wife, a member of All Saints Parish, Bascom; the Moose, Eagles, and the Farm Bureau. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for 30 years. She loved to dance, sew, crochet, quilt, and play cards. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at
Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)-447-3113.
Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at All Saints Parish, Bascom site. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
