Vie Ann Keller, 95, of Tiffin, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital. She was born January 21, 1926, in Republic, to Lawrence and Ula (Miller) Straub. She married Jerome A. Keller, July 26, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin officiated by Rev. Richard J. Gabel. Jerome preceded her in death March 23, 2008
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline A. Keller of Tiffin; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Ann (Consolo) Keller of New Philadelphia, Ohio and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Andrew “Drew” Keller, and a brother Robert Straub.
Ann was a 1943 graduate of Republic High School, a 1946 graduate of Flower Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo. She also completed post graduate work at The Institute of Living in Hartford, Connecticut. She worked at Findlay Hospital and Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital where she retired after 32 years as a Registered Nurse. She worked with Hospice as a volunteer nurse for several years.
Ann gave of her time to volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Sharing Kitchen, and a Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital. She also volunteered for various senior programs. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, gardening, crossword puzzles, and also making Christmas ornaments from beaded kits. She loved animals especially her fur babies, Toby, Ginger, and Izzy.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; the Professional Nurses Association, and the Order of Eastern Star, Republic.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Szybka will officiate. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
