Victor H. Chartier, Sr. age 78, of E. Teakwood Court, Tiffin, Ohio died at 2:24 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Mercy Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on December 23, 1927 in Barre, Vermont to the late Adrian and Irene (Stacy) Chartier. On May 18, 1953 in Kitsap County, Bremerton, Washington he married Lois Eileen Dunn and she survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons, Charles (Josie) Chartier of Maumee, Ohio; Victor (Kathy) Chartier, Jr. of Tiffin; 1 daughter, Leslie (Diana) Chartier Albany, Oregon; 4 granddaughters, Ashlie, Holly, Heather, and Gabrielle; 2 sisters, Suzanne Legault; Francine Blodgett both of Barre Vermont; and a faithful dog, Benny.
He is preceded in death by 1 brother, Medward Chartier.
Mr. Chartier was a member of the United States Navy, where he served in WWII and received the WWII Victory Medal. He also served during the Korean War and received the Korean War Medal. He retired in 1990 from Allied-Signal, in Fostoria as a Tool and Die maker. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church; Tiffin Masonic Lodge #77; Tiffin Shrine and the U.A.W. Local 533 Tool and Die.
There will be no visitation or services.
