Vernis Edward Charlton, 56, of CR 16, Tiffin, Ohio, formerly of Uhrichsville and Coshocton, Ohio, died at 10:23 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2005 in his home. He was born February 8, 1949 in Dennison, Ohio to the late Joseph L. and Ruth E. (Hammond) Charlton. On February 21, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio, he married Donna Clarey who survives.
Other survivors include: 2 sons Aaron (Elizabeth) Charlton of Tiffin, and Andrew Charlton at home; 2 daughters: Amber (Aaron) Clark of Springboro, OH and Amanda (Don) Hannam of Sycamore, OH; 1 brother, Rod (Sara) Charlton of Dearborn Heights, MI; 4 Grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob and Emma Charlton and Kilynn Clark.
Mr. Charlton was a 1967 graduate of Claymont High School and a 1971 graduate of the Ohio State University. He was a former teacher at Coshocton and Lakota Schools. He attended the Melmore United Methodist Church.
Services will be 1:30 pm, Monday, November 7, 2005, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113, with the Rev. Tom Gruver officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Tiffin. Friends may call Sunday, Nov. 6, from 5 to 8 pm, at the funeral home.
