Verlin M. Kenner, age 90, of Tiffin, Ohio, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died at 4:30 am, Sunday, March 6, 2005, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was born February 16, 1915 to Charlie and Martha (Slone) Turner. She married Hershel Prater who died in 1937. She then married John Kenner in St. Joseph Rectory in Tiffin on April 19, 1941. He died May 18, 1988.
She is survived by 4 sons: Charles R. Prater of Austria, Europe; Michael L. Kenner of North Little Rock, AR; John P. Kenner of Sacramento, CA; and Thomas A. Kenner of Richmond, VA; 1 daughter; Jane A. Bolan of Georgia.
Other survivors include a brother; Glenn M. Turner of Tiffin and a sister; Martha Sizemore of Cullman, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Charles, Clarence and James Turner, 2 half brothers; Curtis and Ernest Collins; 5 sisters: Elizabeth (Betty)Jenkins, Clara Bell, Fronie Turner, Mattie Kenner, and Hassie(Pat)Norval; and a daughter Nina Rose Prater.
Mrs Kenner was retired from the School of Opportunity where she was a teacher's aide for 21 years. She was a memeber of St Joseph Catholic Church. She was active in assisting with Boy Scouts activities. She and her husband, John, had sponsored and "adopted" a Vietnamese family in Tiffin.
Rev. Richard Dunn will conduct Mass on Saturday at the St. Francis Home Chapel.
