Thomas J. Huffman, age 50 of Tiffin, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at his residence.
Thomas was born June 11, 1963 in Tiffin to Ramon W. "Red" and Suzanne M. "Susie" (Grover) Huffman and they survive in Tiffin. He was formerly married to Naomi Brand and she survives in Tiffin and is the mother of his children.
Other survivors include two sons, Thomas L. and Alan M. Huffman; a daughter, Genevieve Huffman, all of Tiffin; three brothers, Duane (Marilyn) Huffman of Marysville, Ronald (Jill) Huffman, and Michael Huffman both of Tiffin; a sister, Kathy Huffman of Tiffin and three grandchildren, Ethan and Emilia Messersmith and Ryan Hohman and one on the way. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mary and Cloyce Grover; paternal grandparents, Lillian and Roscoe Huffman; and a niece Allison Huffman.
Thomas was a 1982 graduate of Columbian High School, served in the United States Army 1983-1988; he earned a B.S. degree from Heidelberg University and he also attended Terra Community College. He was a Maintenance Supervisor for the Artiflex Company in Clyde.
Tom held a third class FAA medical certificate and had earned his pilot's license. He was a certified refrigerant handling technician and was certified in first aid and CPR.
He enjoyed flying, skydiving, video games, movies, music, hacky-sack, hunting, model airplanes and helicopters, and being with family. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, honest, kind, and accepting. He always welcomed everyone with open arms and loved to make others happy. He loved animals, especially LIzard and Tinkerbell. He was goofy, very intelligent, supportive and he made us proud.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church.
The Funeral service will start at 12:00 noon, Saturday at the First Lutheran Church with the Pastor Rich Haner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery with military rites performed by the United Veteran's Council of Seneca County.
