Thomas Baumann, 87, of Tiffin, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020, at St. Francis Home.
He was born August 29, 1933 in Hungary to John and Maria (Ederle) Baumann. He married Elizabeth Horvath December 29, 1956 at Camp Kilmer, New Brunswick, New Jersey. She died June 1, 2018.
Survivors include a son, Joseph (Lisa) Baumann of Toledo, two grandchildren, Lauren and Spring Baumann; a brother John Baumann, and a sister, Margaret both of Hungary.
He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Baumann, a brother, Rudy Baumann and sister, Stephanie.
Thomas retired as a machine repairman at National Machinery after 16 years of service and he worked at Autolite in Fostoria for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and he served in the Hungarian Army.
A masked walk through visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay respects, and exit without lingering
The funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
