Theda Marie (Fetters) Turner, 88, of Tiffin, died at 8:32 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
Theda was born August 13, 1930, in Findlay to Theodore and Myrtle (Ballmer) Fetters, Sr. She married Norman Twining May 27, 1951, and they later divorced. She then married Ralph C. Turner August 29, 1980, in Newport, Rhode Island. They both preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise M. Twining of Jamestown Rhode Island, Cheryl L. (Rick) Cramer of Tiffin; a grandson, Austin K. Cramer of Tiffin; three sisters, Margaret Peneton of Surprise, Arizona, Evalyn Garman of Findlay, and Dorthy Flick of Glendale, Arizona; three stepdaughters, Mary Jane (Roscoe) Dawkins of Columbus, Carol (Tom) McGannon of West Virginia, Denise Turner of Minnesota; three stepsons, William (Rosemary) Jancin of Michigan, Ralph J. Turner of Tiffin, and Steven (Teale) Turner of Toledo; and four nieces and four nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother, Theodore Fetters, Jr.; two half-sisters, and a nephew.
Theda was a 1948 Findlay High School graduate and moved to Tiffin in 1953. She was employed by Petries in Findlay, and Sears and LaSalle’s both in Tiffin. She also did bookkeeping for Turner Pest Control in Tiffin.
She maintained friendships with Sears co-workers, who still meet for lunch every third Thursday of the month. She was proud of her active membership at Bodyworks for over 30 years, where she exercised with friends and enjoyed talking with them after their work-outs. She also enjoyed talking with her sisters, doing cross-word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and reading romance novels, particularly ones with historical settings. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson. She never met anyone with whom she could not have a conversation. She will be deeply missed.
There will be a graveside service for anyone wishing to attend, at noon Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Fairmont Cemetery. Rev. Eric Rummel will officiate. Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)-447-3113 is assisting with the arrangements.
