Sylvia Marie Lovejoy Frederick, 86, formerly of S. TR 1179, died at 10:10am Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Parkview Nursing Home in Fremont.

She was born on June 18, 1921 in Washington County, PA to the late John G. and Elizabeth (Ross) Theakston. On November 27, 1941 she married Carl B. Lovejoy and he is deceased. On November 20, 1971 in Tiffin, she married Robert B. Frederick and he survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Robert) Wise of Fremont and Joan (Jim) Shobe of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Heather Shobe, Greg Wise and Wendy (Steven) Esker; and three great-grandchildren, Cody Burns, Abby Schmidutz and Isaha Schmidutz.

Mrs. Frederick was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Willis, and Samuel Theakston; and four sisters, Alice McCoy, Nell McClain, Emma Minton and an infant sister.

Sylvia moved to Tiffin in 1956 from Pennsylvania and worked as cosmetologist at LaSalle’s Department Store from 1960 to 1967. She and Bob moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1974 and then moved back to Tiffin in 1999. While in Florida Mrs. Frederick was active in square dancing, playing cards, and enjoyed a trip to England. Her bubbly personality was enjoyed by everyone. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Tiffin and was also involved with the Elks and the Lady Shriners.

Sylvia’s last gift to her family was letting them take care of her, as well as she had cared for them in their younger years.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Greenlawn Cemetery in Tiffin.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113 and from 10-11 am Tuesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice in Fremont or to Ebenezer United Methodist Church in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
