Sr. Justine Gubernath, age 59 years, of Sisters of St. Francis, Tiffin, died 2:55 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2003 in the St. Francis Convent Infirmary, Tiffin. She was born to George and Dolores (Miller) Gubernath, Sr. Her mother survives in Bucyrus, Ohio.
Other survivors include, 3 brothers, George Gubernath of Napoleon, Ohio; Jerome and Joseph Gubernath both of Bucyrus, Ohio; 2 sisters, Evelyn Gubernath of Bucyrus and Doris Cavaliero of Huber Heights, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her father, George.
Sr. Justine’s date of Reception was 1961, her First Profession was 1963 and her final Profession was 1969.
She was a teacher in Edgarton, Custar, Oak Harbor, Willard, New Washington, and Clyde, before moving to Tiffin, in September 2003. She studied at the college of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 4 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde, Ohio where services will be held at 1:00 PM. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, November 5, from 2:00 - 9:00 pm at the St. Francis Convent Chapel, Tiffin where a wake service will be held at 4:00 pm in the Convent Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 10:30 am in the St. Francis Convent Chapel.
Burial will take place immediately following the Mass in the St. Francis Convent Cemetery.
