Sister Miriam Miller, age 95, of the Sisters of St. Francis, Tiffin, Ohio, died December 24, 2003. She was born January 13, 1908, in Miller City, Ohio, to Nish L. and Emma (Engemann) Miller. Survivors include a brother, William Miller and a sister, Betty Miller. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Grevenkamp, and a brother, John Miller.
Sister Miriam was received into the Order in 1930, professed her first vows in 1932, and her final vows in 1935. She was a teacher in Fort Jennings, Peru, and the Motherhouse, then became Principal and Teacher in Waynesville, North Carolina. She was a local superior and librarian at the Motherhouse before becoming the Director of Occupational Activity at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She returned to Charlotte, North Carolina to write the history for the Charlotte Diocese, before returning to Tiffin in 1983.
There will be a Wake Service at 4 pm Sunday at the Convent. Burial will be in the Convent Cemetery.
