Sister M. Helena Blinzler, 86, of the Sisters of St. Francis in Tiffin, Ohio died Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at 1:57 AM, at St. Francis Home. She was born December 14, 1918 in Tiffin, Ohio, to Charles and Ida (Trausch) Blinzler of Blakeslee, Ohio.
Surviving is her sister, Mrs. Murwin (Lamoile) Herman, of Edgerton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Pearl Peter and Blanche Blomeke; and her brothers, Carolus, Francis, and Earl Blinzler.
Sister Helena’s ministries include housekeeping, cooking, and laundry work at the motherhouse, Millersville, Peru, New Washington, Edgerton, Landeck, Payne and Maggie Valley; aide in nursing and activities at St. Francis Home, Tiffin; and a minister of prayer for the congregation. Sister Helena enjoyed watching television, reading, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed living at St. Francis Home.
The Funeral Mass will be 10:30, Thursday, February 10, 2005 in St. Francis Convent Chapel, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 with Rev. Denny Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Convent cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-8 on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 where a Christian Wake Service will be Wednesday at 4:00 PM at the chapel.
