Sister Adela Diller, age 88, of the Sisters of St. Francis in Tiffin, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 3:45 a.m. in St. Francis Home, Tiffin, Oh.
She was born October 15, 1918, in St. Anthony, Ohio, to John and Mary (Gross) Diller.
Surviving are her sister Ethel Boeckman of Coldwater, Ohio, and her sister-in-law Rita Diller of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her baby sister, Adela Diller; and her brothers, Zeno Diller, Father Harold Diller, Donald Diller, Father Otto Diller, and Walter Diller.
Sister Adela served as elementary teacher in Edgerton, Blakeslee, Peru, and both teacher and principal in Payne; as high school teacher at St. Francis Convent, Tiffin and St. Mary, Paducah, Kentucky; as aspirant directress and postulant directress for the congregation; and as community councilor for the congregation. At the time of her death she was a minister of prayer and presence for the congregation.
Deacon Donald Coughlin from Payne, OH, said of her: “In her humility and love of God, she has made St. John’s School, a great place of learning.”
The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Rev. Roger Bonifas at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 7, 2007 in the St. Francis Convent Chapel, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883. Burial will be in St. Francis Convent cemetery.
Visitation will be today, Friday, from 2 to 7 pm at the Convent Chapel, with a Christian Wake Service at 7 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday.
