Sharon Rose Reis, age 60, of rural Bloomville, died at 1:50 am Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born in Tiffin on November 11, 1949, to the late Oswald and Bernadine (Elchert) Huss. She married Thomas J. Reis during a major snowstorm, February 13, 1971, in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown, and he survives.
Survivors also include a son, Ben Reis of Sycamore; a daughter, Jessica Gortz of Frederick, Md., four grandchildren, Kayla, Kira, Kaden, and Karyssa Gortz; a brother, Gerald R. Huss of Chester Springs, Penn.; and two sisters, Annetta (Gerald) Mathias of Alvada and Lois Camper of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Reinhart.
Sharon was a 1967 graduate of New Riegel High School and received an Associates Degree from Stautzenburger College. She worked for 27 years in the business office of Mercy Tiffin Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and loved garage sales and flea markets. Sharon was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, cooking and baking, tea parties, and celebrating and decorating for the holidays.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 27, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, with a wake service at 2 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. Prayers will be said at 10 am Thursday, October 28, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to the funeral.
