Ruth L. Werling, age 88 of W. TR 18, tiffin died at 11:50 P.M. Sunday, September, 26, 2004 in Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Fostoria, to the late John and Augusta (Souder) Ward. Her husband, Andrew H. Werling, whom she married Aug. 19, 1939, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, died Nov. 25, 1992.
Surviving are four daughters: Barbara (Gerald) Borer of Fremont, Beverly (Paul) Staib of Tiffin, Ruthann (Robert) Varvel of Kingston, Ohio and Pamela (Dale) Frazier of Circleville, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Roseanne Werling of Tiffin; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren; a brother, Kent Ward of Tiffin; and a sister, Helen Painter of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
A son, James Werling and a granddaughter, April Platt, also are deceased.
Mrs. Werling, a homemaker, was a member of St. Mary Catholic church, Poor Souls Society, St. Ann's Society and volunteered at the Sharing Kitchen.
A Funeral Mass will be in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. David M. Ross officiating. the rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
A wake service will be at 3:30 Wednesday at the Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
