Ruth E. Daniel, age 88, of Tiffin, Ohio, died at 7:33 pm, Monday, January 3, 2005, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was born July 17, 1916, in Landeck, Ohio, to the late Alfred J. and Maude E. (Harter) Rahrig. On August 8, 1942, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Robert E. Daniel, and he survives in Tiffin. Also surviving are a son, Robert E. Daniel, Jr., and his wife, Jan, of Rochester, NY; 2 daughters, Sister Carol S. Daniel, OSF, of Springfield, IL, and Elaine M. Daniel of Woodbury, MN; 3 granddaughters, Tia Daniel, Jackie Stuver, and Tess Tomanovich; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lowell and Olan Rahrig, and 4 sisters, Vera Dukes, Cretora Rahrig, Esther Leonard, and Wilma Weinandy.
Mrs. Daniel was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in Jackson, Michigan, and she was a registered nurse, housewife, and mother. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Rev. Richard Dunn will celebrate the funeral Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Home, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
