Ruth Mowry, age 90, formerly of S. Sandusky Street, Tiffin, died at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, December, 1, 2005 in the Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin. She was born on September 22, 1915 to the late Oscar and Lillian (Barlow) Clark in McKenzie, Tennessee. On November 13, 1936 in Seattle, Washington, she married Donald A. Mowry. He died on March 6, 1987.
Survivors include 3 sons, Donald C. Mowry, of Republic, Ohio; Ronald A. (Jan) Mowry, of Texas; Jeffrey A. (Eva) Mowry of Melbourne, Florida; 2 daughters, Ruth Ann (David) Hamilton of Buena Vista, Florida; Paula K. (Lenny) Perna of Tiffin, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, David and Mark Hamilton; Jennifer, Barbara and Tricia Mowry; Donny, Marla, Michael, Frank and Olivia Perna; Austin and Michelle Mowry; 3 great granddaughters; 5 great grandsons; and 2 step great grandsons; and 1 sister, Ann Wheat of Garden Grove, California. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers; 1 grandson, Adam Perna who died September 29, 1999; and 1 step grandson, Andrew Mowry in April of 2005.
Mrs. Mowry was a homemaker, and a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church, Tiffin. She was an avid rose gardener.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be private in Seneca Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
