Ruth M. Kramer, 92, of Olmsted Falls and formerly of Tiffin, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Renaissance Retirement Campus, Olmsted Falls.
She was born March 25, 1928, in New Washington, to Cletus A. and Mary A. (Heydinger) Hertzer. She married Francis W. Kramer May 2, 1953, in St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Washington, and he died May 31, 2009.
Survivors include five children, Mari Seitz of Grove City, Karen (Ed) Maliszeski of Middleburg Heights, Beth (Ken Simonson) Kramer of North Ridgeville; Fred (Sue) Kramer of Akron, and Jane (John) Zuzek of Olmsted Falls; five grandchildren, Megan Seitz, Jennie (Jonathan) Geurts, Joe Maliszeski, Steve Maliszeski, Deb Maliszeski, and a brother, John Hertzer of Walnut Creek, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, Margaret Young, Doris Hertzer, Rosemary Mayer, Carl Hertzer, and a son-in-law, Jim Seitz
Ruth was a 1946 graduate of New Washington High School and retired from Continental Cablevision. She also worked at Shelby Salesbook, Seneca County Engineer Jim Leahy, and the Ohio License Bureau. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, Rosary Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabella. She did volunteer work for Mercy hospital records, patient escort, volunteer scheduling; Meals on Wheels and a Red Cross blood donor. She enjoyed bowling at the Knights of Columbus, sewing, crafts, and was well known by friends and neighbors for baking, decorating, and distributing cookies for all holidays. She was an avid Indians fan.
A walk through visitation for friends and family with masks required per state mandate will be 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 11 am Saturday, August 1, 2020, with the funeral Mass following at 11:30 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to Mass, and burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
