Robert "Grubby" P. Smith III

Robert P. “Grubby” Smith, III, 65, of Tiffin, died at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo.

Bob was born December 11, 1956, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Robert P. and Johanna (Mitchell) Smith, Jr.  He married Michelle Bednarz September 4, 1994, and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include five daughters, Jaclyn, April, Ashley, Brittany, and Cierra; 14 grandchildren; and two sisters, Antonia , and Catherine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Melissa and a brother, Donald.

Bob was a 1975 graduate of Columbian High School and in 2000 he received his Associates Degree from Owens Community College, and worked at Kasai North America for 20 years.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.  A wake service will be at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
