Robert Bruce Frederick, 89, formerly of TR 1179, Tiffin, died at 3:10am on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Sandusky.
He was born on December 2, 1918 in Tiffin to the late Leslie L. and Ruth (Robenalt) Frederick. On November 20, 1971, he married Sylvia Lovejoy and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2008.
Survivors include 2 step daughters Darlene (Robert) Wise of Fremont and Joan (Jim) Shobe of Tiffin; three step-grandchildren, Heather Shobe, Greg Wise, and Wendy (Stephen) Esker; three step-great-grandchildren, Cody Burns, Abby Schmidutz and Isaha Schmidutz; a brother Leslie Frederick of Tiffin.
Mr. Frederick was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Jack Frederick; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Myers and Evelyn Cooper.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and retired from the Advertiser-Tribune where he worked in advertising sales. Mr. Frederick was a life member of the Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge #77. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Tiffin.
The funeral service will be at Noon on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113. Burial will be immediately following in Greenlawn Cemetery in Tiffin, with military rites conducted by the United Veterans Council of Seneca County.
Friends and family may visit from 10am – 12 Noon, Saturday, March 15 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, due to the recent passing of his wife, Sylvia Frederick, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
