Robert Anthony Gundlach, 79, of Temecula, CA, died November 6, 2004, in Temecula. He was born May 23, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of Alfred and Idella (Conrad) Gundlach. He married Betty Swartz on October 29, 1946, and they later divorced. He is survived by 2 sons, Michael (Connie) Gundlach of Fostoria, OH, & Daniel Gundlach of Healdsburg, CA; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Kathryn White, Marilyn (Don) Hutchins, and Nancy Gundlach, all of Tiffin, OH. A son, John, and a sister, Margaret Kistler, are deceased.
Mr. Gundlach was a 1943 Columbian High School graduate. He retired as an auto body repair specialist for many shops in the Tiffin, OH, area. He served in the US Army as a combat engineer in Company B, 1277th Battallion in Normandy, France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe during World War II. Services will be at noon Saturday, December 11, 2004, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 46 Madison St., Tiffin, OH. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin.
