Robert Maurice “Nuss” Nusbaum, age 74 of Tiffin, died at 10:05 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.
Robert was born to Ralph and Josephine (Bridinger) Nusbaum, July 8, 1938 in Seneca County, Ohio. He married Diane Huffmon, May 29, 1965 in St. Mary Catholic Church, and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include, a daughter, Holly McCray, of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Dylan and Davyd McCray; a brother, Terry L. (Elaine) Nusbaum of Tiffin; four sisters, Jackie S. Depp, Vicki J. (Donald) Bauer, Georgia A. Nusbaum, and Marian Sherwood, all of Tiffin; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Huffmon of Gibsonburg.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Edward Nusbaum, and a sister, Twila John.
Robert attended Columbian High School. He was a member of the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1958, during the Korean War. He retired from sales at J. F. Walker Company. Robert also worked in sales at the Tiffin Paper Company. He was a pressman at the Advertiser Tribune and Toledo Blade. After retirement, he worked part-time at Ballreich’s, Frosted Foods and Quick Tab II. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Eagles and the AMVETS. Robert enjoyed golf and dartball, and he loved people, especially spending time with his grandsons.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113. A wake service will be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 am, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the funeral home, followed by his funeral Mass at 10 am, at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Roemmele will officiate. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes before the Mass. Burial will be immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be made to Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Care Center, Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
