Robert was one of seven sons, born October 18, 1931 in Wyandot County to George O. and Mabel C. (Goodman) Bowers. On August 19, 1956 he married Anna M. Bogner and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Gregory E. (Bobbi) Bowers of Sycamore; a daughter, Vicki L. (James) Karcher of Apple Creek; four grandchildren, Andrea and Ashley Bowers, Tony and Tyson (Tiffany) Karcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold M. and George J. Bowers.
Robert was a 1949 Columbian High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He was the former maintenance manager at Harvard Industries. Robert was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the American Legion Post 250, Sycamore, the Elks and he loved to travel. He was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Sports Fan.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-3113.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Paul Stark. Entombment will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens Mausoleum with military rites conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T. in care of the funeral home.
