Rita Marie Moyer, age 91, formerly of S. CR 19, Tiffin, died at 7 am Saturday, April 9, 2011, at St. Francis Home.
She was born February 24, 1920, in Tiffin, to George and Ursula (Neiderkohr) Steinmetz. She married Robert Auda June 29, 1943, and he died June 28, 1945. She married Robert Moyer August 1, 1960, and he died December 30, 1999.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith Koch of Greenwood, Ind.; three step-daughters, Barbara (Jerome) Schlick of Tiffin, Janet (David) Datsko of Bel Air, Md., and Jane (Ronald) Kramer of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a step-son, James Moyer of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Anne Steinmetz of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three brothers, John Robert, George, and Richard Steinmetz, a son-in-law, John Koch; a grandson, John Koch, Jr. and an infant sister.
Mrs. Moyer was a graduate of the 1938 Class of Calvert High School and Tiffin University. She retired as a secretary and teller at First National Bank of Tiffin. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. Prayers will be said at 9:30 am Tuesday, April 12 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Szybka will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass.
