Rita M. Smith, age 86, of St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio, died August 22, 2002. She was born to Michael and Nancy (Koerper)Sendelbach on February 13, 1916 in Liberty Township, Seneca County, Ohio. On May 13, 1939 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, she married Clarence L. Smith, and he survives.
Other survivors include, 2 sons, Elmo (Lois) H. Smith of Great Falls, Montana; and Norman (Jean) Smith of Sidney, Ohio; 2 daughters, Nancy (Richard) Heebsh of Findlay, Ohio; and Mona (Richard) Cleary of Pompano Beach, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 brothers, Harold, Richard, Roland, and Leo Sendelbach all of Tiffin, Ohio. She is preceded by a brother Paul J. Sendelbach and a sister Dolores Stears.
Mrs. Smith was a 1934 Calvert High School graduate. She had worked 11 years in Central Supply at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society and St. Francis Auxiliary.
There will be a Wake Service at 3:45 on Sunday, August 25 at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the Funeral Mass in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass at the church. Contributions may be made to St. Francis Home, American Heart Association, and Calvert High School.
