Richard J. Fox, 89, formerly of N. Water Street, Tiffin, died on Sunday, May 23, 2004, at 9:00 a.m., at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin. He was born on April 7, 1915 to Henry and Josephine (Lucius) Fox in Old Fort, Ohio. On January 28, 1945, he married Margaret M. Angelbeck. She died on March 18, 2003.
He is survived by one son, Richard C. (Cynthia) Fox and one daughter, Sharon K. Fox, both of Pemberville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Michelle Fox and Amanda Fox; one niece, Kathleen Droll, of McCutchenville; and one nephew, James Fox, of Tiffin.
He was preceded by two brothers, Paul and Alfred Fox and one niece, Elizabeth Fox Smith.
Mr. Fox retired after 29 years as a Machinist at Webster Manufacturing. He served his country in the Army during World War II and was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the First Lutheran Church.
Burial will take place at Fairmont Cemetery after the funeral service. There will be a military service at the cemetery by the United Veteran’s Council.
Contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church or Autumnwood Care Center in care of the funeral home.
