Richard Lowell Edelman, 74, of rural Tiffin, died at 4:20 am Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Heritage of Clyde Nursing Home.
He was born September 20, 1947, in Mariana Islands, Guam, to Richard Charles and Marjorie E. (O'Connell) Edelman. He married Donna C. Johnson July 19, 1981, in Findlay, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ray Lawrence (Heather) Edelman of Evansville, Indiana and Ryan Lowell (Emily) Edelman of Columbus; and three grandchildren, Harper, Rowan, and Alanna Edelman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pamela R. Miller and a brother Ronald L. Edelman
Mr. Edelman was a 1965 graduate of Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska. He attended the InterAmerican University in Puerto Rico, and graduated from the Ohio Peace Officers Academy. He retired in 2000 as a police sergeant for the Tiffin Police Department. Richard was also a certified firearms instructor and a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
The family asks that masks be worn at the visitation and service. Visitation with family and friends will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. officiated by Rev. Marilyn Coney all at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113.
