Rebecca Rose Stetzy, age 54, of New Riegel, Ohio, died at 12:53 am, Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born November 1, 1949, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Nicholas and Levone (Schwab) Heil. Her mother is deceased. Her father and step-mother, Nicholas and Betty Heil, survive in Tiffin. On May 18, 1974, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Joseph Stetzy, and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Amanda Stetzy, at home; 2 brothers, Steve Heil of Tiffin and Todd Heil of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; 3 step-sisters, Becky Troiano of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kim Nedolast of Bascom, Ohio, and Dana Bentz of Tiffin; and a step-brother, David Renninger of Tiffin.
Mrs. Stetzy was a 1968 graduate of Columbian High School, and a 1972 graduate of the Ohio State University. She then attended Case Western Reserve University and worked toward her Master’s Degree. In later years, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. She was a staff supervisor at the School of Opportunity in Tiffin. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel.
The Rev. Ron Schock will officiate services, with burial in Pleasant View Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Melmore, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin.
