Ralph J. Kimmet, age 81, of W. TR 96 New Riegel, Ohio died at 7:57 pm Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 3, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Ralph S. and Rose M. (Burns) Kimmet. On April 17, 1952 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, he married Josephine C. Bouillon and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Judy ( Mike) Hayes and Virginia “Ginny”(David) Bursa, both of Tiffin; four sons, Gerard ( Mary) Kimmet, Greg (Fran) Kimmet both of New Riegel, Duane (Jeanie) Kimmet of Clyde, and Dan (Holly) Kimmet of Melmore; 14 grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald (Marilyn) Kimmet of Prescott, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard Kimmet and an infant sister, Mary Catherine Kimmet.
Mr. Kimmet was a 1944 graduate of Hopewell Loudon School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Ralph had retired after 27 years at Fostoria Industries where he worked in sheet metal fabrication. He also worked for Ohio Power and at several area Kroger stores. He was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, a 50 year-plus member of the Knights of Columbus Carey/New Riegel Council, and a life member of the Edward Grine Post 354 American Legion, New Riegel.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Monday, June 23, 2008 in All Saints Parish officiated by Rev. Randy Giesige. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-5 pm and 6-8 pm Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 419-447-3113.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, New Riegel Right to Life, All Saints Parish or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
