Ralph Benjamin Schank, age 86, of TR 122, Tiffin, Ohio, died Friday, August 18, 2006, at his residence. He was born on May 4, 1920 in Willard, Ohio to the late A. John and Rose L. (Wise) Schank. On October 20, 1945, he married Mary Alice Kummerer in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. She died September 11, 1998.

Surviving are 3 sons, James W. (Judy) Schank of Tiffin; Thomas J. (Laura) Schank of Oak Harbor; and Richard P. (Lori) Schank of Upper Sandusky; 2 daughters, Doris (Ron) Raitz of Tiffin; and Rose (Joe) Beddow of Streamwood, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 brother, Arthur R. Schank of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Anthony, Herbert, Leonard, Clarence, and Leon Schank; and 2 sisters, Loretta Dendinger and Martha Daniel.

Mr. Schank was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 337th Combat Engineer Battallion. He had retired from American Standard Company in Tiffin. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, and the Republic American Legion Post 404. He was a charter member of the Clinton Township Fire Department.

The Funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Say officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Republic American Legion. Friends may call Tuesday, August 22, from 4 to 8 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The Rosary will be recited in church fifteen minutes prior to Mass.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Calvert High School or a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
