P. Kenneth Seislove, 94, of Tiffin, died at 10:41 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Mercy Health Tiffin Emergency Room. He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Tiffin to Louis and Clara (Fey) Seislove. He married Dorothy Maloy, Nov. 5, 1943, and she died Nov. 23, 1980. He then married Marge Hoover May 13, 1983, and she survives.
Other survivors include a step-son, Wayne (Tina) Hoover of Holland, Ohio, two step-daughters, Marianne (Tony) Reed of Aurora, Colo. and Elaine (Dan) Cantu of Tiffin; step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and step- great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. He was the last of eight siblings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dorothy, five brothers, Ralph, Donald, Wayne, Howard and Richard Seislove, two sisters, Helen Payment and Dorothy Black.
Kenneth was a 1943 Calvert High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1943-1945. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Elizabeth Stanton, an amphibious troop transport as a motor machinist mate, first class. He then worked at Webster Industries for 15 years as a wood pattern maker. He retired from the Carpenters Local 2239, Fremont. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Earlier in his life he enjoyed traveling to Sault Sainte Marie for fishing. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and yard work.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The wake service will be at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 13, 2017, at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Gary Walters will officiate. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with military rites by the United Veterans Council.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, Food for the Poor, United Veteran’s Council or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
