PAUL J. RAITZ, SR.

Paul J. Raitz, Sr., 86 of 116 Westwood Drive, Tiffin, died at 12:26 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1918 in Seneca County, to John and Agnes (Hoepf) Raitz. He married Mary Evelyn Kimmet on May 8, 1940 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. She died on Mary 31, 1995. Only July 20, 1996, he married Evelyn Dantuono and she survives.
Other survivors include, 2 sons, Paul J. (Marge) Raitz, Jr. of Kannapolis, N.C. and John (Lynn) Raitz of Goshen, Ohio; 6 daughters, Mary Jane (Jules) Frisch, Charlene (Michael) Ditslear and Nancy (Robert) Boes, all three of Tiffin; Joyce (Louis) Wrasman of Kenton, Ohio; Kathy (Tom) Prezynski of Toledo and Janet (Mark) Doughtery of Geneva, Ohio; 3 step sons, Dennis and Douglas Dantuono, both of Findlay and Anthony Dantuono of Columbus; 3 step daughters Jacqueline Strathman of Houston, Texas, Connie Dantuono of Dublin, Ohio and Michelle Dantuono of Tiffin; 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.
Also surviving are six sisters, Inez (Jack) Eakins of Sandusky, Dolores (Al) Brickner of Tampa, Florida, Sister Ester Raitz, OSM of Fremont, Ohio, Mary Lou Navarre of Florida, Dorothy Miller of Tiffin, and Anne Louise (Robert) Bailey of Grand Rapids, Ohio.
A brother, Robert Raitz is also deceased.
Mr. Raitz, a retired farmer and electrician worked at the General Electric Company in tiffin for 15 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, Knights of Columbus, New Riegel Farm Bureau and was a champion euchre player, who loved to play cards and do woodworking.
Rev. David M. Ross will officiate the Funeral Mass on Thursday. The rosary will be recited in the church at 10: 45 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
A combined wake service; rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home
