Paul J. Lapczenski, 85, of Tiffin, died 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.  He was born June 23, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y. to Matthew and Mary (Golonka) Lapczenski.  He married Catherine A. "Kay" Grosso Nov. 6, 1954, in Buffalo.  She died June 16, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Mark J. Lapczenski, of Cleveland; William P. (Marcia) Lapczenski of Emmetsburg, Iowa; a daughter, Patricia M. Lapczenski of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Leah Marie Lapczenski, Catherine Rose (William) Meehan, Jonathon Paul Lapczenski, Jack William Lapczenski, Kelsie Francine Noe, and Taylor Marie Noe; a great gandson, Landon Spencer Lapczenski; two sisters, Patricia Kukla of Rock Island, Ill. and Mary Ann Pyrak of Buffalo.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne Troidl.

Paul was a graduate of Canisius High School, Buffalo.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952.  He retired after 25 plus years as a plant buyer and engineer for American Standard.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister. "Mr. L" also ministered to the residents of Autumnwood Care Center. He was a member of the Industrial Management Club.  He enjoyed golf, cards, a good Manhattan with his friends, and was a lifetime Buffalo Bills Fan.

Visitation with family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.  A Parish Wake Service will be at 3:30 pm, followed at 4 pm by military honors performed by the United Veteran's Council of Seneca County.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at the funeral home followed by the Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place in Buffalo.

A memorial mass will be held at Assumption Church, 435 Amherst St, Buffalo Saturday, Sept 12, 2015 at 8:00 AM.  Burial will follow at St Stanislaus Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin American Civil War Museum or to Autumnwood Care Center in care of the funeral home.
