Paul Arthur Distel

Paul Arthur Distel, 67, of Tiffin, entered into eternal life surrounded by his family at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1948, in Tiffin to Arthur and Harriet (Hudson) Distel, Jr. He married Rosalie A. Hohman September 22, 1979, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Chris A. (Sarah) Distel of Kerrville, Texas; a daughter, Heather (Marc) Ramminger of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Eleanor Grace Distel, Theodore Arthur Distel, Josephine Katherine Distel, Arthur Marc Ramminger; two brothers, Tim (Jane) Distel and Rick (Pat) Distel both of Tiffin; four sisters, Mary Jane (Jerry) Rumschlag of Fostoria, Catherine (John) Gase of Tiffin, Elizabeth Swecker of Tiffin, and Laura (Rob) Burns of New Riegel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Scott Distel; a sister-in-law, Renee Distel and a brother-in-law, Dennis Swecker and three special nephews.

Paul was a 1966 Calvert High School graduate, a 1970 University of Detroit graduate with a B.S. in English.  He had retired in 2014 from National Machinery Company after working there for 48 years.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Quarter Century Club.

Visitation with family and friends will be 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 19, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.  The rosary will be said 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
