Owen Wayne “Jake” Snyder, age 68, of the Kiwanis Manor, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 11:57 am, Friday, February 16, 2007, at Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin.
He was born December 1, 1938, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Owen W. and Helen V. (Compston) Snyder, Sr.
Surviving are a son, Ted (Judy) Collins of Clyde; a daughter, Darlene Brown of Marysville; four grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great grandson; two sisters, Norma Reedy of Tiffin, and Josephine “Josie” Hunter of Port Orange, Florida.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Brown; two brothers, Richard and Jack Snyder; and two sisters, Alice Snyder and Virginia H. Snyder.
Mr. Snyder was a graduate of Bloomville High School and a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was retired from security work and was also a machinist. Jake was a loving father, brother, and grandfather.
Graveside services will be 3 pm Friday, February 23, 2007, at Fairwell-Retreat Cemetery, Republic, with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating. There will be no visitation.
