NORMAN J. WELLY

Norman John Welly, age 80, of W. Perry Street, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 10:08 pm Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin. He was born on January 5, 1928 to the late Adam T. and Clara H. (Grine) Welly. On August 6, 1949 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Alvada he married Dorothy E. Frank and she survives.

Other survivors include, two sons, Dennis N. (Sara) Welly and Mark L. (Becky) Welly both of Tiffin ; two daughters, Diane K. (Steve) Stinchcomb of Tiffin; and Jean A. (Lee) Snell of McCutchenville; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur Welly of Tiffin.

Mr. Welly is preceded in death by four brothers, Cletus, Paul H. Florian D. and Virgil H. Welly, four sisters, Eunice Steyer, Erma Welly, Marguerite Fergueson and Rosemary Miller.

Norman attended New Riegel High School. He had retired in 1993 from Tiffin Tire and Retread after working there for 44 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin Eagles #402, Senior Citizens Card Club and United Commercial Travelers #359. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid card player.

The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Rev. Gary Walters at 10 am Thursday, October 2, 2008 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery

Family and Friends may call from 2-8 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 7:45 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, Community Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
