Norbert J. Kimmet, age 87, of CR 592, rural Tiffin, died at 10 am, Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, Ohio.
He was born June 10, 1918, in Seneca County, to the late George and Lauretta (Sendelbach) Kimmet. On November 8, 1947, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Irene Houck, and she died November 5, 1990.
Surviving are a son, Mike Kimmet of Tiffin; and a brother, Alfred Kimmet of Genoa, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver, Ralph, and Jerome Kimmet, and two sisters, Margaret Boes and Genevieve Holman.
Mr. Kimmet was retired as a heavy equipment operator at Cedar Point Amusement Park, Sandusky, and also a farmer. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Liberty Township, Bascom Lions Club, Bascom Fire Department, and the Knights of Columbus.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, with Rev. Art Newiadomski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Tiffin. Friends may call Tuesday, March 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
