Monica E. Hoffert, 78, of Tiffin, Ohio, died January 11, 2002. She was born in Washington County, Ohio, on March 18, 1923, to William P. and Amelia (Schwendeman) Engle. On December 2, 1944, she married Wenner Hoffert, and he survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Michael and John Hoffert; 5 daughters, Susan Kennedy, Rebecca Studer, Mary Jane Inkrott, Christine Vela, and Jennifer Schnaible; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 4 brothers, Charles, Bernard, William, and James Engle; 4 sisters, Marian Hoffert, Jeanne Glover, Martha Jane Williams, and Zita Izzo. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sr. Beatrice Engle, OP, and 2 brothers, Sylvan and Glenn Engle. Mrs. Hoffert was retired from the Tiffin Bake Shop and had been an executive secretary at Hanson Machinery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society, the Josephines, and the Elizabeth Seaton Mothers Study Club. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and attended Tiffin University. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Tiffin. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin, or to the Josephines.
