Mildred A. Smith, 83, of St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, died 8:05 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 19, 1927 in Vine Grove, Ky. to Thomas Eugene and Anna Clara (Pike) Vowels . She married Dr. Donald F. Smith April 20, 1946 in Vine Grove. He died October 10, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Jim) Alexander of St. Augustine, Fla. and Debbie (Fred) Spurck of Tiffin, two grandchildren Nick Spurck and Terri Alexander, four great grandchildren Chelsea Maseowich, Alec Hawley, Andrea Spurck, Emma Spurck.
She is preceded in death by nine siblings.
Mildred was a homemaker and a member St. Joseph Catholic Church and Allen Eiry Senior Center. She enjoyed golfing and volunteering on the St. Francis Campus. She was a resident of Galion until 2001, when she moved to Tiffin.
Visitation with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka. The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery, Brokensword, Ohio.
