Mattie Kenner, age 82 years, of 6640 Maryport Lane, Naples, Florida and formerly of Tiffin, Ohio died at 2;19 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2003 at her residence. She was born on January 24, 1921 to the late Charles and Martha (Slone) Turner in Wayland, Kentucky.
On May 17, 1941 she married Lawrence A. Kenner in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died on February 1, 1995. Other survivors include 4 daughters, Catherine (Robert) Nonnenmacher of Naples, Florida; Theresa (William) Johnson of Canton, Massachusetts; Christine Wears, of Fremont, Ohio and Helen (Robby) Lust of Naples, Florida; 13 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great- Great Grandchild; 1 brother, Glenn Turner of Tiffin, Ohio; 2 sisters, Martha Sizemore of Cullman, Alabama; and Verlin Kenner of Tiffin, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Turner, Charles Turner, Clarence Turner, 2 half brothers; Curtis Collins, and Ernest Collins; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Jenkins, Clara Bell, Fronie Turner, and Hassie “Pat” Norval.
Mrs. Kenner had retired as a nurse’s aide at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of the Junior Home Alumni. She had lived with her daughter Cathi and son-in-law Bob since her husband’s death in 1995.
The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass. The Funeral Mass will be conducted by Rev. James K. Say. Burial will take place immediately following the Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
