Matthew Richard Gase, age 37, of Miami St., Tiffin, died at 7:56 am, Friday, June 27, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident in Huron County.
He was born September 1, 1970, in Tiffin, to Richard Otto and Mary Lou (Seislove) Gase. His father died March 31, 2008, and his mother survives in Tiffin.
Also surviving are two sons, Trey and Travis Gase, both at home, a daughter, Jessie Ann Gase, at home; two sisters, Kimberly (Daniel) Burns and Justine (Rodney) Culver, both of Tiffin; maternal grandmother, Vivian Seislove of Tiffin; two nephews, Adam and Jaron Burns, and a niece, Sydnie Culver.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Loren Kay Gase.
Mr. Gase was a 1989 graduate of Columbian High School and a member of the 1987 undefeated NOL champion football team. Matt was a licensed practical nurse at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. He had formerly worked at American Standard, Tiffin. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was active with the Boy Scouts and coached girls Pony League Softball.
Funeral Mass will be 11 am Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Timothy Ferris officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. There will be a Wake Service at 7:45 pm Monday at the funeral home, and the Rosary will be recited in Church at 10:45 am Tuesday.
