Mary Frances Kuebler died in her home on Riverside Drive, Monday, March 28, 2005. Miss Kuebler, along with her late sister, Joan, lived their entire lives in the same home, which was built by their father in 1886.
After graduating from Calvert High School in 1939, she attended Mary Manse College, Toledo, graduating in 1943. Returning to Tiffin, she held several secretarial jobs before joining the Commercial National Bank in the early 1950’s. At Commercial National Bank (nka Fifth Third Bank), she served in many capacities, including executive secretary for the late Carl R. Kalnow, administrative assistant to the Trust Department and Private Banking Officer. She retired from banking in 1988.
Throughout her adult life, she was active in many Tiffin organizations, including the Historical Foundation, and the Seneca County Library. Her interests included the natural environment, gardening, the arts, reading, and her pets.
Survivors include a niece, Kathryn Kuebler, Tiffin; and two nephews, John Kuebler, Tiffin, and Paul Kuebler, Birmingham, Michigan. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Moreover, she is survived by her ersatz children, consisting of Mr. Carl Kalnow (Kris), Cincinnati, Mr. Andrew Kalnow (Cindy), Chicago, Mrs. Gertrude Kalnow Chisholm (Homer), Shaker Heights, Mrs. Loretta Kalnow Kaplan (Allan), Chicago, and twelve Kalnow grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Ehber) Kuebler, her brother James, her sister Joan, and a dear sister-in-law, Beth Kuebler.
A Memorial Mass will be at 11 am, Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Rev. James K. Say celebrating. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
